All in all you are paying for the location but the room was very nice although a little unclean. Great location with stunning scenery all around you. The food is pretty good (we used the food court which was basic and reasonable, and the bar which was very nice but pricey). They have a gift/supplies store onsite which we were expecting to be expensive but it was very well priced. Reception staff were excellent, but the service in the food court/bar was not as good as we had come to expect during our stay in the US (was OK though)
Room could have been a lot cleaner - bed and towels were very clean, but the whole room/bathroom would have benefited from a good clean - especially considering the price, and the "deluxe" description.
We enjoyed hiking, walking and driving. I went to have a Sunday brunch at Awanee Hotel. It was raining and snowing hard, so we didn't have doing at night.
We'd like to have something to do at night.
The best part of yosemite lodge is its location and landscaping, its a wonderful spot for all kind of tourists, specially the nature lovers and adventure lovers. Food, service and the comfort level is awsome. Specially the special prpgramme hotel follows to preserve nature, water and the location impressed me, weather was excellent and visitors were all from international places, loved it and recommend it to all
Nothing that I disliked, all was just wexcellent, only if it could be little less in price!!!
The location was fantastic, we has a first floor room and our balcony had wonderful views. I think that the room was getting ready for a re-furb but it was a good size and had everything we needed, the shower was great. All of the staff we spoke to at Yosemite were friendly and helpful, the shuttle bus drivers were especially good. We ate mostly in the food hall, I was a bit apprehensive about this, but it was great value for money and lots of choice.
The cost! it was by far the most expensive place we stayed in America, however I would pay it again to stay in such an awe inspiring location.
The excellent location is the best feature of the hotel.
You get little value for the money. It is our impression that the interior of our room needs updating. The breakfast in the huge room lacks intimacy and quality and is also not included in the price.
This is an excellent hotel with the best location you can imagine. Got there at night so woke up to a waterfall just outside the room. Excellent value highly recommended
The location can't be beat! You walk outside your door and you have spectacular views in every direction. There are lots of places to go in walking distance and free shuttles provided. You still need a rental car to reach the further hikes but I would not have wanted to stay outside of the park because of the long drive you would have in each day. Again great location!
The rooms are over priced as is the food - ouch! But they were clean and we had a great time!
Waking up in the morning to the fresh cool mountain air filled with the smell of pine trees and the wildlife right outside your door (deer, squirls, birds).
Great location, free buses, helpful staff
Restaurant too expensive, Food Court food poor though cheap. An in-between option required.
Very nice large room, 2 queen beds, sofa, extra chair, desk and chair, small refrigerator, small safe, small tv, plenty of storage room, full bath with shower, (no mold and very clean), lots of hot water, hair dryer, vaulted ceilings, (single story units - Birch building). The lower Yosemite falls were about a ten minute walk away. We ate at the food court for dinner and had the spaghetti and meatballs which was good the first night, (about $11.00 each). Ate at the Mountain room, (very nice) the second night and had the prime rib, about $32. (very good). We dined at the Ahwahnee the third night, (beautiful lodge and dining room with a pianist playing very well) and had the Trout Almadine, about $34. and a side order of garlic mashed potatoes, (Excellent). Had a wonderful stay, great hikes and it snowed the last night 4 inches turning it all into a winter wonderland.
It would be helpful if they had baggage carts since some of the rooms are a ways from the parking lot.
Location good and rooms were adequate for our requirements.
The standard of food and drinks in the food hall was very poor, not well cooked, not hot, coffee was undrinkable.
Location, location, location bike rental convenience shuttle convenience food options were nice... Dinner in lodge bar was better than expensive dinner we had at the Ahwanhee. Our staff at the lodge was friendlier than the staff at the ahwanhee.
A bit pricey for the outdated rooms and construction going on in the parking just outside our room was annoying...plus busses stopped in front of our room leaving limited parking. Not enough outlets in rooms but that just might be a girl thing since I needed a curling iron while my phone was charging. Our building did not have ice machine which was fine until it rained.
Place is falling apart. The park service is not looking after our property. This is a $50 a night property in a very expensive location. Do your self a Big favor and stay outside the park on the West side and drive in.
It is located in the Yosemite Village.
The facilities in our room (and we suspect similar for other rooms) were old and needed replacement. The heating is a small portable electric fan heater. Just not good enough considering the high price we paid for the room.
The tranquility of the location was excellent, the views around the hotel were breathtaking. The facilities on offer at the hotel were good including choice of restaurants, the rooms were located in separate lodges in superb settings, rooms were clean and comfortable with a charming rustic feel. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the Yosemite National Park either by foot, car or using the free shuttle buses running from the hotel to many locations within the park
